Happy New Year from the MFLN! I love the hopefulness and optimism of starting a new year and I particularly enjoy snuggling by the fire with my dog while reflecting on my goals and aspirations for the coming year. If you’ve got one you know that dogs are great listeners!
The OneOp is well positioned as we think about and plan our upcoming programming. The concentration areas built a solid collaborative foundation in 2016 (more about that next month) and I am excited to see the new and innovative programming on the horizon in the coming year. We have two online conferences or virtual learning events (VLE) planned for 2017. The Personal Finance team offers their annual VLE in June. We’re also pleased to announce that we will be offering a virtual conference in early fall focusing on a larger, interdisciplinary issue. Stayed tuned for more details on this exciting fall virtual conference.
Planning is also well underway for concentration area-specific events. January features a two-part series on chronic illness relevant for practitioners focused on families, wellness, nutrition and caregiving. Additional topics covered this spring include the new blended retirement system, foreclosures, gluten-free research and Celiac disease.
Consider including participating in a OneOp webinar in your 2017 professional goals. Registration is always free and many events include free CEUs.
In 2017, as always, we’re looking forward to connecting and learning with you via social media and our webinars, podcasts, and videos.
