When people think of child abuse and neglect, they often picture a physically and/or psychologically injured child. What they may not immediately picture is that same child as an adult with risky health behaviors, chronic health conditions, low life potential, and early death. What do these have in common? As the number of Adverse Childhood Experiences increases, so does the risk for the potential adult outcomes.
On August 17 at 11 am Eastern, Dr. Melissa Merrick from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be providing a 90-minute webinar on the ACE Study and what it teaches us about maximizing health and well-being. Not only are we offering beneficial and important information, we will also be offering 1.5 CEUs for those licensed mental health professionals (Social Workers, Professional Counselors, and Family Therapists) seeking credits.
