MFLN’s Family Development & Early Intervention teams have come together to host our upcoming Thrive Series! This series will consist of webinars and Anchored podcast episodes that are all about the Thrive Initiative, a continuum of parenting programs for parents of children from birth to 18 years of age. The Thrive Initiative was born out of a partnership between The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State and the Department of Defense’s Office of Military Community and Family Policy.
The first two webinars in the series will take place on October 29, 2019 and November 19, 2019 starting at 11am EST. Each webinar will explore aspects of the four programs that make up the Thrive Initiative.
To get us ready for this great series, I wanted to share some info to wet everyone’s whistle on all things THRIVE!
We kicked off the series officially with this Anchored podcast episode, “An Overview of the Thrive Initiative!” This podcast episode introduces our presenters, Terri Rudy and Dr. Ryan Chesnut, who are both with the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State. Both Terri and Ryan are involved with the development and implementation of programs and projects focused on promoting health among military families, including programs that fall within the Thrive Initiative. CE credits are still available for this podcast episode, so you can listen to our introduction to the Thrive Initiative today here!
There are several great resources available on the Thrive Initiative’s webpage! Included are blogs written for parents as well as parent resources that include resource guides on topics such as healthy eating, physical activity, and mindfulness strategies. You can visit their website to begin familiarizing yourself with the great programs and resources the Thrive Initiative has to offer!
To find out more about the series as a whole and to RSVP for these webinars, visit the OneOp Thrive Series page at https://oneop.org/thrive/
Please feel free to share our series flyer with any professional contacts that you feel would be interested in this topic. And as with all of our OneOp programming, this series will offer FREE Continuing Education (CE) Credits for providers seeking professional development. This includes CE Credits for licensed social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and case managers, as well as early intervention professionals. Certificates of completion will be available as well to document this training. We hope you join us for a deep dive into all things THRIVE!
