Grow! Empowering Parents to THRIVE

About this Webinar

In partnership with the Department of Defense’s Office of Military Community and Family Policy, Penn State University’s Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness is implementing a new initiative to empower parents as they nurture their children across developing stages. The THRIVE Initiative includes age-specific programs designed to guide parents in learning and using parenting and health promotion strategies for raising healthy children.

This webinar focuses on the GROW program which is designed for parents of children 5 to 10 years old. The most developed program within the initiative, GROW is offered in an in-person, group-based format with five sessions. Join us and learn how GROW helps parents to learn positive parenting techniques, stress management strategies, and health promotion skills that can be used to help children be happy and healthy.

Dr. Jennifer DiNallo is the Director of Research for the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State. She has been part of the Clearinghouse team since 2010. Over this time, she has had the opportunity to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of several programs and projects focused on serving military families, including the THRIVE parenting initiative and the Resource Center for Improving Family Health Behaviors.
