Nurturing Family Resilience Through a Strengths-Based Framework
August 22, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm EDT
About This Webinar:
Highly stressful adverse situations impact the whole family; in turn, how families deal with their challenges can facilitate positive adaptation for all members, their relationships, and the family unit.
This webinar presents core principles and guidelines in Dr. Walsh’s research-informed Family Resilience Practice Framework, identifying key relational processes that couples and families can build for resilience through difficult times.
Discussion, with illustrations, highlights the core strengths — shared beliefs, practices, and resources — that facilitate coping and positive growth: in rebounding from crisis, trauma, and loss; in navigating disruptive family transitions; and in weathering persistent multi-stress conditions. In strengthening their resilience, families gain deeper bonds, more effective functioning, greater well-being, and enhanced capacities to overcome future life challenges.
