About This Webinar:

This engaging and interactive session guides participants through an ethical decision-making process to solve problems. Participants learn practical strategies for making decision for persons under their care, identify the core components of ethical decision making and explore how this knowledge can be used. Participants will walk away with a clear understanding of how decisions impact others.

Presenter

Shauntā L. Singer, Ph.D.

Dr. Singer has been in the field of Special Education for 20 years. She began as an elementary special education teacher in a DC Public School. She later became a department and Individual Educational Program (IEP) Chairperson. After receiving her masters, she went on to become a Director of Special Education for a charter school also in DC, bringing it in federal and local compliance. Following this, Dr. Singer went on to pursue a doctorate at the University of Virginia, where she studied Special Education, Administration, and the research to practice gap. Within Texas, she served as a regional education specialist, serving the largest region in Texas, and supporting educators with ensuring access and progress in the general education curriculum. Dr. Singer recently served as an Assistant Professor & Extension Specialist at Texas A&M University, AgriLife Extension Service where she supported individuals with disabilities and those who support them while encouraging Universal Design for Learning principles. Personally, Dr. Singer is a mother of two; ages 3 and 5, and the wife of an Associate Professor and the Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion for the College and Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University.
