In December of 2018, Jennifer Garbow, proud mother of a Navy Sailor — CTT2 Isaiah Moore, and her family had the opportunity to visit Isaiah while he is stationed at Naval Base Yokosuka.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In this episode, Isaiah talks about education, relocation,  finance assistance/GI Bill, and transitioning out of the Navy in June.  As Isaiah transitions out of the military, listen to find out where his next steps will take him.

Guest Bio

On May 12th, 2015  Isaiah Moore joined the military at age 19 after going to college for a year.

He went to Basic Training in Great Lakes, IL and then continued his training at Pensacola, FL for almost a year to gain training and knowledge as a CTT.

Jennifer Garbow has been an educator and associate Jennifer Garbowprofessor in Family Resiliency for eleven years with the University of Minnesota’s Extension Center for Family Development. Her primary role is to provide financial literacy education to families and communities, with special expertise in working with American Indian clients. Jennifer trains service providers to provide personal finance education to diverse audiences, focusing on understanding culture and values and how those influence financial decision-making. Before joining Extension, Jennifer worked for Leech Lake Tribal College in Cass Lake, MN as dean of students and director of community and continuing education. She is a member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa. Jennifer earned a Master of Education degree from the College of Education and Human Service Professions at University of Minnesota — Duluth.
