October 1, 2019 @ 1:00 am CDT

Anne Phibbs podcast graphic

About this Episode

In this episode, Dr. Phibbs discusses the sphere of seeking out stories as we move toward inclusive practice.  Through her research, sharing stories and examples, she guides the listener to  see why cultural competence is important for helping professionals.  Dr. Phibbs  asks the listener to think about “What are the stories I tell myself?”,  to help us understand how we internalize stories.

As you listen to the first episode, “Seeking out Stories”, think about the following questions:

How do we start these conversations with other people?  How do we have these conversations with our staff?  How do we bring stories “into our own”?
