Pt. 1 Vlog Series: Centers for Independent Living – Transitioning to Adulthood
Centers for Independent Living (CILs) are community-based centers that are run by and for people with disabilities and offer a broad range of services to empower and enable people to stay in the community (ACL, 2020).

In part one of the nine-part vlog series, Ms. Morse provides an overview of CILs and Administration for Community Living (ACL) and explains the history and differences between the two agencies. Learn the importance of the ‘independent living philosophy,’ and the five core services under ACL. Ms. Morse also shares her experience with CILs and the relationship between national and state independent living councils.
