About this Episode
We know that military families experience unique transitions on a frequent basis. Some are easy to navigate while others pose more challenges. Recently, Anita Harris Hering, from the Family Transitions team, had an opportunity to talk with a military spouse, about the transitions her family encountered over the years.
During this interview a military spouse (who asked to remain anonymous) describes the transitions her family experienced related to military life and deployments, including her spouse’s resulting combat stress and mental health issues. She shares how her children were impacted by military life and the challenges they experienced as they transitioned out of the military and how they still view their family as military-connected. In addition, she provides suggestions and resources that might be helpful for other families who experience similar situations.
