The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State has partnered with the Office of Military Community and Family Policy within the Department of Defense and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture within the U.S. Department of Agriculture on an initiative designed to empower parents to nurture their child’s development from birth all the way to age 18. This exciting initiative offers a wealth of strategies and resources to support parents and build family capacity.  The THRIVE initiative will consist of four programs to address the needs of children at specific stages of development:

Take Root (birth to 3 years)

Sprout (3-5 years)

Grow (5-10 years)

Branch Out (10-18 years) Still in development!

Each program includes themed resources for families, such as:

  • Breathe to THRIVE – Strategies for mindfulness and managing stress, including stretches and breathing techniques!
  • Cooking to THRIVE – Resources and recipes for meal planning and healthy eating!
  • Moving to THRIVE – Strategies to promote family playtime and physical activity ideas!
  • Resources to THRIVE – A comprehensive collection of additional user-friendly resources for families!

Learn more about these exciting programs through webinars in our THRIVE series!
