About This Webinar:
Nutrition education is a necessary measure for disease prevention and treatment, yet nearly half of Americans experience difficulty with understanding and communicating health information. Nutrition educators must be able to understand issues surrounding nutrition literacy and use effective communication techniques in order to reach goals of improving diet and related health outcomes. In this session, participants learn how these techniques have been used in research and discover how to apply them in their own practice.
Learning Objectives:
- Define and describe nutrition literacy.
- Discuss assessments of nutrition literacy and their potential use within the practice setting.
- Identify communication techniques to use when providing nutrition education to patients with low nutrition literacy.
