About This Webinar

TRICARE is the healthcare program for uniformed service members, retirees, and their families worldwide. It provides comprehensive coverage through health plans, prescription drug benefits, special programs, and dental and vision options.

Designed to help service providers better support military families as they navigate the TRICARE system, this webinar provides an overview of TRICARE plan options, including Prime, Select, and TRICARE Remote, and examines key considerations that influence healthcare decisions. Presenters will discuss services covered by TRICARE, enrollment requirements, and how the evolution of the benefit may affect beneficiaries. Participants will also explore how healthcare benefits contribute to a service member’s total compensation and use this information to help equip families to account for healthcare expenses in their monthly spending.

Learning Objectives:

Differentiate among major TRICARE plan options, including Prime, Select, and TRICARE Remote.
Describe services, enrollment requirements, and factors that may influence TRICARE plan selection.
Examine healthcare considerations for military families enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP).
Identify vetted resources that can help military families navigate TRICARE, understand healthcare benefits, and make informed healthcare and financial decisions.

Presenter

Zelly Zim

Ms. Zelly Zim is a Health System Specialist in the Policy & Programs Division, for the TRICARE Health Plan (THP), within the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in Falls Church, VA. Her primary role is as the policy manager for the TRICARE Select program. She is also a subject matter expert (SME) for the other private sector care enrollment policies, involved in the promulgation of Statute into Regulation and Policy benefitting the Military Health System’s 9.6 million beneficiaries.
