Ms. LaFollette is the Department of Defense Project Lead for OneOp. Ms. LaFollette began her professional career with the Army in 1989, working with Family Programs at the Installation, Regios, Headquarters and Army Staff levels prior to moving to the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), Office of Family Readiness Policy in 2014. While employed by the Army she worked various programs within the Military and Family Support Center to include: Family Advocacy Program, New Parent Support Program, Victim Advocacy, SHARP, Exceptional Family Member Program, Army Family team Building, Army Volunteer Corps and was key in developing the new Survivor Outreach Services Program in 2008. She is a graduate of the Army Management Staff College, Sustaining Base Leadership Management Course in 2005.
For over 26 years, Zona Lewis has worked in support of the military community. Her career path began in the summer of 1990 when she took a college summer internship with Navy MWR where she worked in youth programs at Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland. (She swears her short tenure there had nothing to do with the base’s eventual closure.) For 19 years (1992-2011), Zona worked for the Department of the Navy supporting quality of life programs. With Navy MWR she did everything from catering and conference center management and recreation programming to managing fitness centers, a golf course, an ITT office and an auto skills shop. For Navy Fleet and Family Support Programs, she was instrumental in the development of the Navy’s individual augmentee program. She provided public affairs support for both the Navy’s wounded warrior program and Commander, Navy Installations Command. Zona joined Military Community and Family Policy in the summer of 2011 to development and manage the department’s web content. Today, she is the Outreach team lead managing the development, execution, measurement and analysis of MC&FP’s outreach and engagement program. Outside of work, she is an avid crafter, gardener and reader. She has been married for more than 20 years to a now retired crusty Navy Chief.
