MFLN’s Family Transitions, Family Development, and Network Literacy are gearing up for our upcoming Resilience Series, which will take place in just a few weeks beginning on August 20 and continuing on August 22 and August 27. Each webinar in the series will begin at 11 AM EST and end at 12:30 PM EST. These webinars will be featuring three top theorists and researchers in the field, Dr. Ann Masten, Dr. Froma Walsh, and Dr. Michael Ungar. Each session will explore the multiple facets of resilience and how it looks in individual, family, and community capacities.
To get ready for this fantastic webinar series, I wanted to share some resources that focus on understanding the concept of resilience and how to apply it when working with clients and families.
- Our “Exploring Resilience” blog, “Understanding Resilience as a Dynamic Process” blog, and “Resilience and its Importance to Children” blog were written by our OneOp teams and take a different look at resilience and what it truly means.
- OneOp Family Transitions created a video called “The Seven Crucial C’s of Resilience in Children and Teens.” This short video can be beneficial in teaching children and teens in military families about resilience.
- And this video presentation featuring our first presenter in the series, Dr. Ann Masten, focuses on resilience in youth. This presentation is a great foundational resource for learning about resilience, the adversities children face, and how the capacity for resilience plays a vital role in improving the lives of children and youth as they develop into adulthood.
For more on each respective webinar in the Resilience Series, or to RSVP for these events, please visit our series homepage by clicking the link here. Feel free to share our series flyer with all those you feel would be interested in this topic. As with all of our OneOp programming, this series will offer FREE Continuing Education (CE) Credits for providers seeking professional development. This includes CEs for licensed social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, case managers, and certified family life educators. Certificates of completion will be available as well. We hope you join us later this month for a deep dive into all things RESILIENCE!
