About This Webinar

We have all heard about the benefits of consuming a plant-based diet. Are there any disadvantages? Tune into this webinar to learn about the health benefits and nutritional risks of consuming a plant-based diet. Learn from the experts how to advise your clients on healthy plant-based diets for the best nutrition.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the session, the participants will be able to:

  1. Know there is no single definition of a plant-based diet.
  2. Discuss health aspects of vegetarian and vegan diets and quality of evidence supporting health claims.
  3. Assess nutritional adequacy/status of vegetarians and/or vegans throughout the life cycle and provide strategies for meeting dietary recommendations for vitamin B12, DHA calcium, and zinc.

She has been writing a weekly nutrition column for the Daily Reflector, Greenville, NC since 1986.
