Learning Objectives
At the end of the session, the participants will be able to:
- Know there is no single definition of a plant-based diet.
- Discuss health aspects of vegetarian and vegan diets and quality of evidence supporting health claims.
- Assess nutritional adequacy/status of vegetarians and/or vegans throughout the life cycle and provide strategies for meeting dietary recommendations for vitamin B12, DHA calcium, and zinc.
