About This Webinar

Join us for an insightful webinar on the impact of school transitions related to military moves and how these changes affect military-connected adolescents. We’ll explore the challenges transient students face and discuss strategies professionals can use to support teens in building a sense of belonging and community. When students feel connected and engaged in their school environment, they experience positive short- and long-term outcomes for well-being, both in adolescence and adulthood. Learn how to foster belonging, create supportive school cultures, and help military-connected students thrive despite frequent relocations.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Highlight the unique challenges faced by transient military-connected students, including disruptions in peer relationships, academic continuity, and identity development
  2. Examine how frequent school transitions due to military moves affect the academic, social, and emotional well-being of military-connected adolescents
  3. Discuss how schools can cultivate inclusive and empathetic environments that support the needs of all students, including those with disabilities, especially those experiencing frequent relocations
  4. Share practical strategies and interventions professionals can use to help all military-connected teens build a sense of belonging and connection within new school communities
