About This Webinar:
Nutrition disparities are pervasive among cultural minorities. Improving the nutritional status of a diverse clientele requires accounting for the cultural aspects informing their eating practices and prioritizing culture-specific needs. This session provides an overview of the steps the nutrition professional can undertake to develop cultural competence, and also addresses the principles to follow in offering culturally sensitive care and interventions.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain the need for attaining cultural competence in nutrition and dietetics.
- Describe the steps to develop cultural competence in research and counseling.
- Identify strategies to achieve cultural sensitivity in nutrition research and dietetics practice.
