We kicked off 2022 with a live webinar in our ongoing “Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth (SBCY) Series.” This webinar entitled “Preventing the Onset of Youth Problem Sexual Behaviors” shared some of the work taking place at the Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse to prevent PSB directed towards younger children and also their peers.
Next, we hosted two live webinars featuring the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBICoE) of the Defense Health Agency on “Brain Health: Understanding Military-Related TBIs” and “Support for Reintegration after TBI: Strategies For Advocates, Care Coordinators, and Case Managers.” These two webinars featured lots of great resources and information on traumatic brain injuries and how it’s a significant health issue that affects service members and veterans during times of both peace and war.
We also hosted two live webinars on “Suicide Prevention and Working with Military Families” and “Suicide Prevention and Intimate Partner Violence” featuring Dr. Elizabeth “Gizzy” Gray from the Defense Suicide Prevention Office (DSPO). These webinars helped our audience to become more informed on current military suicide data including trends and common risk factors.
Finally, we collaborated with our OneOp Nutrition and Wellness team on “Understanding the Social and Structural Drivers of Food and Nutrition Insecurity.” This webinar highlights the social and structural determinants of food and nutrition insecurity and examines strategies and approaches for improving food access and equity in military families as well as all families.
PSB-CY: Clinical Assessment and Treatment Overview Courses
Our biggest initiative this year has been the launch of The Problematic Sexual Behavior of Children and Youth (PSB-CY): Clinical Assessment and Treatment Overview courses. These 4 asynchronous courses were created in collaboration with NCSBY and DoD Family Advocacy Policy from evidence-based best practices and focus on youth between the ages of 9 and 14 with problematic sexual behaviors (PSB). Get started by registering for a free account on Thinkific, and continuing education credits from select credentialing agencies are available for each session!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you all and thank you so much for your continued support of OneOp. Stay safe and hope to see you all in 2023!
