With Father’s Day right around the corner, it’s important to honor and celebrate the roles of dads and father figures in our lives. A father’s role in a child’s life can be a very positive influence. We see it in research, and we see the benefits of kids having caring fathers and good role models well into their adult lives and their own roles as parents.
“Is it time for recess?” “It’s my turn to be line leader!” “Stop running!” If any of these sounds familiar, consider how the classroom environment can be used to help. The classroom environment can play a powerful role in helping children understand and follow routines and expectations.
“To be effective in encouraging clients to make healthier food choices and improving health outcomes, health care professionals must possess specific knowledge about food habits, preferences, and practices for the ethnic and racial groups they see in their practice” (Diabetes Spectrum). Culture is a major factor contributing to the food choices and health practices that clients make.
In recent months, days, and even hours, it has become more clear now than ever that we are faced with complex issues requiring more understanding, learning, and connection with others, and immediate action. We have been asking ourselves “what can we do next?”
